Chef Robin Ensil
Freelance Chef
Growing up, Chef Robin was drawn to the kitchen by the amazing aromas of his mother’s cooking. As the years went by, he found himself more and more compelled by the wonders of the kitchen.
The wonders eventually led Chef Robin to the Silwood School of Cookery where he attained the Grande De Plom in Classic French Cookery in 2004. After graduating from Silwood, he went on to start his culinary career at Five Flies restaurant just outside of the Cape Town High Court, before moving to Catharina’s restaurant at the Steenberg Hotel.
After some time at the Steenberg Hotel, Chef Robin took flight and went on to continue his career abroad at Admirals Cove golf estate in the USA. After returning to South Africa, he joined “Out of this planet” catering, before heading back to his roots as a Sous chef at Cassia restaurant.
Between 2008 and 2010, Chef Robin worked at The Townhouse Hotel before joining the team at Cape Manor hotel as the Executive Chef. After his time at the hotel, he decided to pursue a career in airline catering for British Airways until 2018.
