2 cups self raising flour 1T sugar 2t table salt 1 - 1 1/2 cups luke warm water 2 free rang eggs, beaten 2T olive oil 1 packet streaky bacon Maple syrup 1 onion, chopped 2 garlic cloves, crushed
To make the maple glazed bacon, arrange bacon onto a non-stick baking tray. Brush maple syrup over the top and pop into the oven and grill until crispy. Chop once cooled. Chop the onion and garlic and sauté until soft and golden. Set aside to cool.
To make the dough: In a large mixing bowl: Add the flour, mix the salt, sugar and water together until the salt and sugar are dissolved. Pour 3/4 of the water it into the mixing bowl with flour. Beat the eggs and oil together before also adding to the mixing bowl. If the dough is still a little dry add more water, if too wet simply add more flour. Mix all the ingredients together using a wooden spoon until a wet, lumpy dough is formed. Dust a working surface with extra flour before turning the dough out and kneading into a smooth ball, about 8 minutes. Roll out the dough then sprinkle over the chopped maple bacon and onions. Roll the dough into a log. Cut into slices and arrange in a baking tray. Bake for roughly 30 minutes or until cooked through and golden.
