Doughnut and Chocolate Sauce

1kg store bought bread dough
Oil for deep frying
1 1/2 cups icing sugar
3T ground cinnamon

For the chocolate sauce
200g dark chocolate, roughly chopped
200g cream
1T butter

Roll the dough out on a lightly floured surface before using a square cookie cutter or a sharp knife to cut out squares of the dough.
Line a baking tray with baking paper before coating the paper with non-stick kitchen spray. Add the squares of dough to the baking paper leaving enough room for them to expand without touching. Set the tray aside for 30 minutes or until the dough has almost doubled in size.
Combine the icing sugar and cinnamon in a large bowl while heating the oil for deep-frying.
Carefully add the dough squares to the oil to gently deep-fry. You’ll know the dough is ready to turn hen the underside is perfectly golden and brown. This should take about a minute.
Once cooked on both sides place the doughnuts in the cinnamon and icing sugar blend, tossing to coat evenly.
For the chocolate sauce: combine the chocolate and cream in a pot over a low heat. Allow the mixture to come to a gentle simmer before gently mixing together until the chocolate and cream have become a smooth sauce. Add the butter and mix through until the chocolate sauce becomes glossy and slightly thickened.
Pour your chocolate sauce in a serving bowl, allowing your guests you dip their doughnuts in the chocolaty goodness.
