Were joined by activist, mother, breast cancer survivor and granddaughter of Nelson Mandela, Zoleka Mandela. Zoleka has lived a life tougher than most would thing and has had to experience something that no mother should have to go through, with the loss of two of her children, within a year of each other.
Zoleka has had some large shoes to fill, being the granddaughter of former President Nelson Mandela and freedom fighter Winnie Madikizela Mandela, its almost as if she had a social obligation to be someone of inspiration. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2012 and ever since she has been pushing the breast cancer awareness agenda, she hopes that her life will inspire people to follow many of their dreams despite what life might throw at them.
Zoleka has had a long standing battle with addiction to drugs, that even led her to neglecting her own children for a few years. Now on the straight and narrow, Zoleka is known for her activism against drunk driving after her daughter, Zenani was hit and killed by a drunk driver, two days after her 13th Birthday, in 2010. This has now lead to her lead to her anti-drunk driving global campaign, called The Long Short Walk.
