Musician Zakes Bantwini makes a triumphant to our loft, since we last saw him. Zakes’ life has been quite eventful since we last saw him, he has gotten married, had a baby boy, who recently turned 1, plus he released his highly anticipated new album, Love, Light & Music 2.
The Durban based musician is not just known for his music that always gets people on their feet, but for discovering new talents through his record label, Mayonie Productions. He is a man who is is known for his great club bangers and collaborations, which is why it was no surprise that he was also the first musician to make a live House DVD in South Africa. He had been working on ‘Love, Light & Music 2’ since 2014, but couldn’t focus on it fully until he ended his contract with his previous record label.
He has said that the album was inspired by the current stage in his life “This album is inspired by life, to be honest; just by the things we go through and, for me, it’s also about where I am in my life at the moment. I am not a young boy anymore. I am a married man now, I am much more mature. I know better now and that’s what this album symbolises, that’s what it was inspired by.”
