We are joined by actress Winnie Modise, she is also known as Winnie Modise, Winnie is best known for as Khethiwe Buthelezi on long running SABC1 flagship soapie Generations. She is also the founder of the Royalty Soapie Awards, which began in 2013.
2013 saw her launch the very first ceremony of the Royalty Soapie Awardsat the Durban International Convention Centre, on 2nd November. She started them in order to show that people still love and watch soapies. The purpose of them was to celebrate the production of them and acknowledge the actors for their crafts.
Winnie has had a number of large roles throughout her career, including a supporting role in the academy award nominated film Yesterday. However it was the role of Khethiwe on Generations that got her to become a household name, she has even said “I've seen so many comments with people saying even if I play in an international film I will always be Khethiwe to them. I laugh it off, I mean guys I am Mamngadi now but apparently not to them. But it also goes to show that the role had a huge impact”
