We are joined in the studio by Zimbabwean born artist, Troy Makaza. Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, Troy discovered his passion for art at a young age and in 2014 he graduated from National Gallery Visual Art Studio.
Since then Troy has gone on to gain a number of achievements, and most notibly was his recent win at the 2019 Cape Town Art Fair of ‘The Tomorrows/Today Prize’. The prize is something that many artists seek as it includes having a solo exhibition at the Zeitz Mocaa museum, in Cape Town, as well as a cash prize of R50 000. the prize is awarded to the most exciting artist presentation in the category. He is best known for his paintings as well as his sculpture work, which is best described as a relationship between the sexes in contemporary Zimbabwe. He is known for developing his own style and using unique mediums to best express his ideas.
