We are joined in loft by veteran actor, radio DJ, and all round legend in the entertainment industry Treasure Tshabalala. We chat to him about his life in front of the camera, his long successful radio career, and how he has continued to keep his star shinning in such a fickle industry, for over 40 years.
The veteran actor is most recently best known for his leading role in the sitcom ‘Nomzamo’ during 2006 to 2008, and for appearing other television shows such as 90 Plein Street, Phindi, Generations, The Queen, as well as the mini-series Shaka Zulu back in 1987. Not only is he a seasoned television actor, he has also appeared in numerous international films such as the Italian film ‘The Vulture if a Patient Bird.’ He has had a legendary film career, working on South African classics such as Stoney, The Gods Must Be Crazy, and Windprints, among many more. He is also starring in the soon to be released film, Zulu Wedding
His deep and unique voice made him a radio mainstay, with his radio career beginning in 1972 on Swazi Radio, he stayed there for some time before going over to Capital Radio and stayed there for 6 years. The Soweto born media personality has said that, even though people most notably know him from his television roles, but radio will always be his first love
