Actress, an all-round entertainer, and business-woman Thandy Matlaila joins us in the loft. Thandy is a true multi-talent as she is not only an actress but she is also a choreographer, dancer, philanthropist and business-woman who for the past 5 years has been running her own Public Relations Firm. Thandy was also recently named an ambassador of Arts & Culture for the Gauteng Department.
It was no surprise that Thandy was going to grow up into the world of the arts as she was a former SA Gymnast for trampoline, then in varsity she was a music and drama graduate from AFDA. Her family is also in touch with the arts as her youngest brother is on SABC 3 soapie “Isidingo”, while her mother is on “Generations The Legacy.” Thandy has spent over 13 years in the public eye, beginning her career in the SABC 1 youth series Tshisa. She is regarded as one of the most versatile actresses in the country, as she has played numerous roles in telenovelas and films, with some of her most recent work being the being in SABC1 sitcom “Ithuba Lokugcina”, SABC 2 sitcom “Re Baboletse” and Mzansi Magic telenovelas “The Queen” and Ring Of Lies”. She has appeared in a number of influential most popular television shows and movies in the country such as “Rhythm City”, “Soul City”, “Intersexions 2”, “Streets of Mangaung” and award winners “Jerusalema” and “uGugu noAndile”.
