Tannie Evita

The darling from Darling, Tannie Evita is in the loft on Afternoon Express this Monday.

South Africa's favourite koeksister-baking, political-observing Tannie Evita has been in the South African theatre industry for close to 40 years. Often cited as the 'most famous white woman in South Africa', Evita lives in Darling, where she has converted the old railway station into a cabaret venue called Evita se Perron, famous for its satirical garden, Boerassic Park. The unique museum/nauseum of apartheid artifacts there, reflecting the madness of the past, is arguably the only satirical exhibition of South Africa’s recent past.

Evita has starred in several shows such as You ANC Nothing Yet and primarily touches on topics such as socialism, politics, Afrikaner culture among other often controversial topics.
