We are joined by one of the pioneers of the gqom house music scene, Sparks Bantwana. The popular DJ was born in the Eastern Cape but his family moved to the Orange Farm, Gauteng, however he then relocated to Durban, which was where he found his fame as a DJ and producer.
He began his passion and love for music began in 2006, when he was started to be known for creating his unique sound, which mixing house beats with organ keys. Following that he would go on to truly dedicating his time on perfecting his craft as a DJ and producer. His dedication to his music would then go on to earn him vast love and respect from his peers and house music lovers across the board, over the years mainly due to his ability to always be able to keep the party going. Even though he was already beloved by party goers, he only released his first single back in 2012 which was titled “Izibongo”, which was accepted and well received by the people, resulting in a specific fanbase for the popular DJ. He would go on to follow that single up with another, which solidified his spot in the Durban underground scene.
