We are joined by one of the hottest musicians in the country right now, Samthing Soweto. He is one of the founding members of the acapella group, The Soil. After departing from the group, he stayed relatively quite until he showed up alongside DJ, Sun-El, on their smash hit ‘Akanamali’ which took over the airwaves and was all you heard in November and December 2017.
The Johannesburg based singer, whose real name is Samkelo Lelethu Mdolomba, dropped out of school in grade 8 and fell into a life of drugs during his younger years. This led to him spending just over two months in jail, but while there he decided to turn his life around founding Christianity, and focusing on music. This led to him returning back to school and coming together with other singers to form The Soil.
He was with The Soil for five years before departing from them, in pursuit of a solo career. With The Soil’s debut self-titled album, he is credited with composing, co-writing and producing eight of the eleven songs from the platinum selling album. Since then he has released EP’s such as “This and That” and “Eb’suku”.
