Today in the loft we're joined by Africa's 1st successful model with Albinism, TV host, MC, speaker, voice-over artist and actress, Refilwe Modiselle. We're chatting with her about her journey in the entertainment industry and how growing up different has helped her thrive in her adult life.
Born in Rockville, Soweto where she lived with her parents until she was 4 years old; Refilwe and her family relocated to Orange Grove in Joburg where she grew up with her two younger sisters Bontle and Candice Modiselle. Their mother raised all three girls loving them equally and unconditionally. "I think people out there made it a problem and they wanted it to be uncomfortable for us, but it wasn't," says Refilwe about growing up looking different from her sisters. Being born with albinism, she endured many hardships living with a condition that has such a stigma attached to it but Refilwe always believed that she was destined for greatness.
From modelling to acting to presenting, Refilwe has gone from strength to strength in her career, reaching unimaginable heights.
