Raynolda Mukhutle & Itumeleng Letoaba
Cancervive ambassadors Raynolda Mukhutle & Itumeleng Letoaba talk about surviving cancer.
At the age of 40 celebrating a few achievements, Raynolda received shocking news that turned her whole life around. When she was diagnosed with cancer in 1998, she thought it was the end of the journey of life. Working as a banker at that stage, she knew nothing about cancer, except that it was a killer. Today she is grateful to know that cancer is not a death sentence, and blessed with seven grandchildren, including a set of twins. She is still a cancer activist who is living a purpose driven life by educating the communities, spreading the message of awareness, early detection and prevention.
Itumeleng went through six cycles of chemotherapy and lost a lot of weight and before she could recover from her "morning sicknesses" of chemo. She went through two surgeries that led her to a mastectomy. Today she's so happy to tell the world that "early detection saves lives" and that she is proudly cancerous saying that "because cancer lives in my body under my rules. It has no control of my life; I'm controlling it."
