We are joined in the loft by DJ and Producer, Rabs Vhafuwi. The Limpopo born producer is best known for is best known for his album ‘Count Your Blessings’, of which the lead single of the same name launched him into stardom.
He was born Rabelani Madula, Rabs was raised in the village of Dzimauli Mukondeni, in Venda. He got into music after being inspired by the Jazz music collection that his father kept, as his father had a rather wide collection of music. He began his journey as producer while still in varsity, when he got a music mixing programme, after a friend introduced him to it. Even though he had a regular job, he has said that the love for music called him so much that he quit his office job to pursue his love for music. He then went on to release his first independent album, Which was ‘Count Your Blessings’, with the lead single reaching over 1,3 million views. His career has been an easy one, as his second album didn’t do so well, even though he was signed to a label.
It even had him contemplate quitting music. After that he decided to go the independent route again, starting his own label called Freeze the moment productions. It is under this label that he has released his latest album called ‘9 Provinces’, where he collaborates with musicians from artists, from all the provinces of South Africa.
