Professor Ncoza Dlova returns to the loft to inform us on her latest scientific discovery. The University of Kwa-Zulu Natal Dean of Clinical Medicine has identified a new gene that is a major cause of permanent hair loss amongst women of African descent.

Professor Dlova has worked with a number of scientists from around the world, which has led to her being an internationally renowned dermatologist. Her discovery has been deemed as a major breakthrough in the medical field, as it seems that there are more women in this day and age that are suffering from hair loss. She worked with a number of scientists from America, in the hopes of discovering what was the cause of Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia (CCCA), which causes the most common scarring of alopecia amongst African women.

It is all on display and in detail, in her most recent study, which was published New England Journal of Medicine. The New England Journal of Medicine is considered one of the highest impact journals in medical science, with her study being titled “Variant PAD13 in Central Centrifugal Cicatricial Alopecia”
