We are joined in studio by Afro-Pop artist Nonzwakazi. She recently participated at the 2019 Afrimusic Song contest against musicians from all across the continent, winning the competition. After winning the competition she has now been invited to perform her winning song prestigious Eurovision Competition, in Israel which is one of the biggest global festivals around. The Eurovision Competition will be broadcasted to over 186 million people around the world and sharing the stage with the likes of Madonna.
Nonzwakazi’s passion for music started while she was still young, and she started blossoming in high-school even being apart of the school choir and representing the school at singing competitions. Even though she is doing big things now, it has not always been an easy road for Nonzwakazi as she fell pregnant in high school and had to deal with being a single mother, as she didn’t have support from the father at the time. Even through all of this she didn’t give up on her dream and kept pushing through all the sleepless nights of trying to kickstart her career. Her current single is ‘Phakama Mbokodo’ which is the single that she won the Afrimusic song competition, and the one that she will be performing at Eurovision, and is also her debut single. The song is a dedication and inspiration to all women across South Africa.
