Murendeni Mafumo

We are joined by the founder of Kusini Water, Murendeni Mafumo. The company is a solar-powered, mobile water purification system that operates with the use of locally sourced macadamia nut shells and an off-grid power system to provide safe drinking water in rural areas.

Murendeni was born and raised in Venda, which was where studied Chemistry at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology in Cape Town, before going onto work for the City of Cape Town as a water treatment technician.

He also has another company called Gentle Giant, its a technology company that helps the youth in townships and rural areas learn Maths and Science.
