We are joined in the studio by veteran actress, voice coach and playwright Motshabi Tyelele. She has had a number of iconic roles over her career, but roles such as Sophie in Generations, being Eve in the first season of Madam and Eve, and Thando in Suburban Bliss. She has had numorous roles in all three modems of theatre, television and flim.
Motshabi has honed her skills at a number of different institutions from having Speech and Drama training at UCT, studying PR at the Public Relations Institute of South Africa, she has also had extensive voice training at the Royal National Theatre Company in London. This has all helped her rack up a number of awards and accolades throughout her career such as Avanti Award for Best Sitcom Actress in 2001, in 2004 she won a Naledi Award for Best Actress in a Drama, then the year 2010 saw her win a SAFTA Award for Best Supporting Actress.
Her role in Suburban Bliss won her a ‘Best Actress in a Comedy’ Artes Award in 1996, which was what made her go on to become a household name. Following that she went on to star in a number of compelling roles in television such as in Soul City and Yizo Yizo 3. In theatre she has starred in a written a number of plays such as No Second Chance
