Joining us in the studio to close off the week is, house singer Mizz Dee. Mizz Dee is originally from the town of Warmbath Limpopo but was raised in Johannesburg, where she found her love for house music. She grew up surrounded by music, as her parents used to have a large music collection, her father also used to do Michael Jackson impersonations, while her grandmother also sang at church. Ever since then music got infused in her blood, she even had her first music group, in grade 5, which was when she discovered that music was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life.
Her musical sound was inspired by the likes of the late Lebo Mathosa and TK, whom she has stated as some of her musical influences. She is known for reflecting sounds of joy and love, as well as suave voice, through her musical offerings. She got her rise to popularity as mainly a feature on house projects, primarily Soul Candi’s Miggs FoReal ‘FoReal House session Vol.2 & 3’ with ‘Better Days’ and ‘My Rock’ respectively. She also featured on the chart topping song ‘Say Yes’ by the house band Afrikan Roots.
