Mduduzi Mabaso

Joining us in the loft is seasoned actor Mduduzi Mabaso. He is best known for his role as the gangster named “Suffocate” in the soapie Rhythm City, for which he won a Golden Horn award for Best Supporting Actor in a TV Soap at the 2009 South African Film and Television Awards.

Mduduzi tapped into his passion for the arts while still at school, growing up Alexander, Johannesburg, this is what tapped him into going to pursue a stage career at first. He has a number of television, theatre, both local and international film roles under his belt. He acted in a number of South Africa’s most popular television shows such as Yizo Yizo2, Zone 14, A Place Called Home, and Soul City, among many others.

His he has also appeared in a number in a number of award winning films such as Hotel Rwanda, Moekgo and the Stickfighter, Blood Diamond, and more recently in the first South African western Five Fingers of Marseilles. In the film his character is a policeman who is tired to his former gang in his youth.
