Radio presenter Mark Pilgrim talks to us about surviving a heart attack.
Heart attacks are always seen as an "old person's disease", however Mark Pilgrim was at the young age of 40-years-old when he suffered from one and was lucky enough to have survived. Mark's doctor said that heart attacks amongst men his age is not uncommon, and even though he was fit and healthy his genetics may have played a role in the sudden cardiac arrest.
Mark is best known for his popular radio shows on 5FM and Highveld Radio but has also made various TV appearances. In 1988, he was diagnosed with stage 4 testicular cancer though it went into remission 9 months after undergoing chemotherapy.
Today, Mark talks to us about surviving his heart attack, as well as provide some insight on his role as a CANSA ambassador.
