We are joined by budding actress Makgotso Monyemokathoe a.k.a Makgotso M, in the loft today for our final cook-a-long of the year. Makgotso is best known for her role on Isidingo as the young and rebellious Kamogelo Tsotetsi, Onika on Muvhango.
The Alberton born actress was raised there until she was 11 years old, when she, her mother and sister all moved to the United Kingdom. While in the United Kingdom she lived in Brighton before moving to Hitchin, Where she was able to express her passion for the arts such as dance and drama, which is lead to her joining performing arts clubs. After High school She decided to do her A Levels studying Media, Psychology, and Theatre Studies. She would then go on to obtain a BA Joint Honours Degree in Theatre Studies, Film and Television from Brunel University.
She moved back to South Africa to pursue her acting career shortly after graduating, making her on screen debut in 2014, she landed a guest role on the SABC1 sitcom My Perfect Family. Then in 2015 she landed a feature role in the Terry Pheto produced film Ayanda. The following year, 2016 proved to be her true breakout year as she landed roles in SABC1 legal drama series Sokhulu & Partners, Isidingo, and Muvhango, among many others. She is truly a star on the rise, with no signs of slowing down.
