Joining us in the studio is model, presenter and actor Lunga Shabalala. Lunga became a household name as the presenter of the SABC1 flagship variety show, Selimathunzi. He departed from the show after spending 6 years at it.
Lunga obtained a diploma in town planning and property development from Maritzburg College, but it was not the career that he was interested in, so at the age of 21 he decided to move to Johannesburg and chase his dream of being a presenter. He started out staying with a friend but got his first gig with a Coca-Cola advert. He only really got noticed back in 2010 after he won a Calvin Klein competition to represent South Africa. This was in essence the start of his career, as he then became the face of acclaimed men’s underwear brand, this led to him getting a lot of media coverage on television and radio.
In 2011 he won the Selimathunzi presenter search, and the rest has been history since then. However at the end of 2017, he decided that it was time to explore other avenues of his career, such as acting, and he resigned from the show, leaving co-stars Khanya Mkangisa and Siphesihle Vazi.
