The Jones Safe House
The Jones Safe House, near Kommetjie, located in Cape Town, South Africa is a registered non-profit organization that takes on abused, abandoned, and neglected children and abused/addicted mothers. The founders, Donovan and Bernadette Jones, together with their family, provide a stable, loving home where healing can begin and these at-risk children, and their mothers, can grow and flourish and, if at all possible, be safely reintegrated into their families and society.
More than 100 broken children have been loved back together at the Jones Safe House. The number of children at The Jones Safe House at any time fluctuates between 20 and 25, and the number of young mothers between 3 and 5.
The Safe House welcomes visitors, especially students who can assist with tutoring and interaction. Schools can get involved in this way too. Schools or business can also assist with things like toiletries by collecting an item a week or month - soap, toothpaste, face cloths, sanitary pads.
