Johnny has been in the culinary industry for almost two decades. After finishing his matric, Johnny went on to study at the Institute of Culinary Arts in Stellenbosch before he made his way to the Magaliesberg to lay the tables and deck the halls of the Mount Grace.
 
After his time at the Mount Grace, he ventured across Southern Africa in pursuit of improving his craft. He found himself in all areas from Franschhoek to far-flung Namibia.
 
After his travels, he went to Johannesburg to work as the Creative Director of By Word of Mouth in Johannesburg before becoming the Director of Wedding Coordination at the Aleit Group in Stellenbosch.
 
He then met Marius Uys and together, they started Slippery Spoon Kitchen, a bespoke catering company that specialises in preparing creative food for weddings, private gatherings and corporate events.
