Joe Nina, the popular iconic musician, producer and actor born Makhosini Henry Xaba is on the show today. Joe Nina’s career in music seemed written in the stars, his parents met while they both played for a local band, his father a guitarist; and his mother, a backing vocalist. From the tender age of 14 he began to spend time with the band. By the age of 24 he starred and wrote the soundtrack for a Channel Four Films improv comedy film ‘Jump the Gun’.
Joe has had success across many music genres in South Africa and is seen as one of South Africa’s Kwaito pioneers with a myriad of hits under his belt such as “Ding Dong”, “Maria Podesta” and “S’Bali”.
Joe Nina has collaborated with some of the big names in the South African music landscape that include Steve Kekana, Tsepo Tshola, Nana Coyote and the late Ray Phiri, to mention only a few.
In October 2017 Joe Nina released his 27th studio album Time II Time featuring collaborations with the late Ray Phiri, Steve Kekana, as well as various other artists.
