Giving us insight into the Rugby World Cup is RSG sports reader Jody Hendricks.
He’s living the dream of presenting on radio and TV which started when he was only 14 years old. Earlier this year he was named one of the top 200 young South Africans for 2015. Joining us on the couch to give some insight into the World Cup is RSG sports presenter, Jody Hendricks.
Hendricks pursued a journalism qualification at the Cape Town University of Technology, graduating in 2005. During his time as a student, he received his first radio show at MFM 92.6 community radio in Stellenbosch. Despite her initial reservations, his grandmother was the first listener to tune in, Hendricks says.
His move to RSG’s studios in Johannesburg was in 2013, where he started as a sports reporter and analyst. This opportunity allowed him to rapidly expand his portfolio. “Now I have opportunities to work in all the areas I love — radio, sports, music and current affairs. It’s been a long road, but I’m exactly where I always wanted to be”, says Hendricks.
