We are joined by one of the brightest rising stars in the hip hop community right now, J Molley. He came onto the scene in 2017 with hits such as “Hype”, being known mainly as an internet rapper, with a large and loyal following. It wasn’t until he appeared on DJ Speedsta’s single ‘I Don’t Know’ that gained large mainstream recognition. He is known for bringing his own unique sound to the genre, and for being a mental health advocate.
He has been seen by many of his peers as an undeniable talent and as someone who is one of the leaders in the era of rap at the moment. The 20-year-old Johannesburg rapper released his first project ‘Dreams Money Can Buy’ in 2017, the mixtape dealt with personal struggles such as money, depression, anxiety, dealing with worldly expectations and pressures, and dealing with mental illness. A year and a half later he has already had over 1.5 million streams on paid music platforms. He has also already worked and been praised by industry heavyweights such as DJ Capital, Kwesta, Speedsta and Stogie T, and he is also the co-owner of his label Never Broke.
