We are joined by Cape Town born soul singer and composer, Gemma Griffiths. Even though Gemma was born in Cape Town, she grew in Harare, in Zimbabwe, she has has gone on to perform at many music and art festivals around the world, such as the Harare International Festival of Arts and headlining the Zimfest London in 2015.
Gemma is a versatile artist due to the fact that she is a classically trained musician but she studied commercial music in the USA. She has also performed at events such as the Performer’s Platform in Bulawayo, the 2015 African Women’s Awards, at the Afrojazznova, and at the Zimbabwean achievers awards in London UK, and also at the Summer Concerts at Kirstenbosch Gardens in Cape Town. In 2016 Gemma was nominated for a Zimbabwe Achievers Award for “Music Artist of the Year.” she has also gone on to be featured on Mahogany Sessions, which is seen as one of the UK’s most prestigious Music Channels, she has also opened for Grammy Award winning artist Joss Stone, during her world tour.
