DJ PH, Rouge and Manu Worldstar

We are joined in studio by DJ PH, Rouge and Manu Worldstar, as they discuss their latest collaboration. The three musicians also give us a first time on TV, exclusive performance of their latest song “Go Down”.

Rapper Rouge, who orchestrated the collaboration, says that she had always dreamt of becoming a performer and started singing at the age of 6, song-writing at the age of 12 and rapping at the age of 19. She also took part in acting, public speaking and poetry, not knowing she was preparing herself for what was to come. 2017 saw her released her debut album which was titled ‘New Era Sessions’. The reason for the title was because she felt as if the creation process of the album felt like one long therapy session. She has just signed a new record deal to a major label and is working on a new album

Hip hop artist Manu Worldstar became an instant star after the release of his chart-topping Afro-Beat single “Nalingi”. His sound has been described across many genres from hip hop, afro-beat, to pop.

They discuss how the collaboration came about, as initially, Rouge had first worked on the song with Manu, and then PH came and worked on the song, to give it an extra kick. The three got together for the collaboration through the power of social media, as Manu and PH connected through Instagram. Rouge and Manu connected via Twitter after she heard a song of his.
