We are joined by the award winning musical group, DBN-NYTS. They are popularly known for their chart topping, show stopping, smash hit single, which catapulted them into stardom “Shumaya”. After taking a bit of a hiatus from the limelight, they are back and have re-emerged seemingly stronger than ever.
The group origanally began under the name the ‘Charmer boys’ due to how they dressed and carried themselves, they first consisted of 12 members, now the revitalised group only consists of 3 members. The group got formed while they were still in high school and they began as dancers, while also hosting events. After they gained a large social media following they decided to refurbish their brand and become musicians, this led to them moving to Johannesburg to establish their music career. 2014 Saw them release Shumaya, it was played on local radio stations for a year before it went on to blow up around the country. Their first album went on to be certified Gold, and gained them 3 SAMA Awards, 2 Metro Awards and a number of other awards, with the single going 4 times platinum. Now the trio have left Kalawa Jazzme Records and have started te own label, Dbn Nyts Musiq, where they have released their latest single “Drunk & texting and Sesi remix” which features Busiswa, Maraza, Duncan and Kid X.
