We are joined by Cape Town singer Craig Lucas, in the loft. Craig was the winner of the second season of The Voice SA.
Before entering the competition, the Elsiesrivier resident was a UCT graduate, in Economics and Politics. However the corporate world wasn’t what he was truly passionate about, music was always his first love, but he also knew that education was important. Craig tried public singing in high school, but he ended up suffering from anxiety and couldn’t go through with it. It was only while on The Voice SA, did he perform again. Kahn Morbee was his first coach on The Voice SA, who also his first vocal coach, Kahn gave him the help he needed to win the whole competition. After winning the competition he would go on to signing a contract with Universal Music.
Like many, Craig found music to be a way to express his feelings, as a solace, and a way of dealing with things. October 2017 saw the release of this self-taught musician’s debut album “Restless”, the album features a style of music that he calls ‘alternative pop’. Over the coarse of it’s two months writing period, he worked songwriters such as Dominic Neill and Jethro Tait. He also worked with renowned producers such as Peach van Pletzen and Bubele Booi, amongst others
