Ben-Carel Havemann introduces us to an app that helps high school students with studies.

Ben-Carel Havemann work for an NGO called The Reach Trust that develops mobile solutions to tackle socio-economic challenges in South Africa. They launched an Android mobile app and mobisite that delivers high school academic content and life skills programmes. What makes this so unique is that the platform also rewards learners for learning.
Every day the learner receives 3 questions, linked to their schoolwork or general knowledge content. For every attempt the learner receives points. These points are later exchanged in a rewards store for airtime, data or shopping coupons, receiving a tangible reward for their efforts.

Since February, thousands of learners have registered for LevelUp.
