In 2014, South Africa reached twenty years of democracy. The year came with the recent death of Nelson Mandela and generation of “born frees” voting for the first time in national elections. The year also saw three young photographers from different walks of life, travel 24 000 kilometres over seven months to feel the pulse of the country: isiXhosa Sipho Mpongo, Afrikaans Wikus De Wet and English Sean Metelerkamp.
Diverse in their views, race, socioeconomic status, and cultural backgrounds - the three very soon find themselves on their own journey of discovery as young South Africans while the explore their magnificently puzzled country.
