Milk Matters
Louise Goosen from Milk Matters chats to us about milk banks in South Africa.
Research consistently proves the benefits of breastmilk for all babies – it is undisputedly the ideal food for babies. Sometimes though, a mother is not able to provide the breastmilk her baby needs – and what alternative is used matters.
Milk Matters is run according to internationally accepted protocols, designed to maintain the highest possible safety standards, and has policies that protect and promote breastfeeding, including for babies who receive donor milk. Milk Matters provides only screened, pasteurised donor breastmilk from healthy, screened mothers who willingly donate their breastmilk to help other babies.
