We are once again joined by the multi award-winning musician Tresor in the studio. His name has now become synonymous with the new Pop sound that is resonating around Africa. The award winning singer and songwriter is set to take the world by storm, with a growing fan base already in the U.K, Japan, Italy and South Africa. We chat to him about his highly anticipated album, which is titled “Nostalgia”. The album has been described as a musical memoir that honors African pop past and present.
Tresor is from the DRC, but the multilingual Tresor has claimed music as his first language but also speaks fluent English, French and Swahili, making his music easy to relate too for many across the continent of Africa. He knew music was all he wanted to do since an early age and after high school, he relocated to Durban, to follow his passion. Even though he may have started out as a car guard and night security guard, in Durban but he worked hard on his passion eventually found himself playing and sharing stages alongside industry names such as Lira, Ladysmith Black Mambazo, Freshly Ground, Jesse Clegg, Prime Circle and the late great Johnny Clegg, just to name a few.
