We are joined in studio by the lovely vocalist Sindi Nene, as she chats to us about her recent return to the music industry, and her recent self-titled album “Sindi”. She is not just a talented singer though, she is also designer, with her clothes being advertised on her Instagram page. She plans on releasing her own clothing line soon.
The Durban born star’s interest in music began in high school, where she also studied music, before going on to study Jazz and Popular Music at the University of KwaZulu Natal in 2007. In 2010 she gained the attention of the whole nation when she entered the 6th season of Idols SA, where she placed in the Top 3. Following that she went on to to sign to recording company, Universal Music. Under the label she went on to release her first studio album titled ‘Infinite.’ However due to a lack of proper marketing and promotional scheme, so it resulted in the album not doing as well as she and the label had hoped.
After taking a four year break from the industry, Sindi returned with a bright gleam in her eyes, she signed to a slightly smaller record label, 999, which is owned by industry legend Arthur Mafokate. Now under the latest label she has released a self-titled album, and has been performing it all around the country.
