Raeesah Albertus and Immanuel Makuse
Social media personalities Raeesah Albertus and Immanuel Makuse share their journey to love and starting a clothing line together.
Raeesah and Immanuel’s journey began in the air. They met while flight attendants on ComAir. The two connected and started dating. The couple however, have faced many challenges as a result of being an interracial couple in South Africa. Despite the challenges, their love continues to flourish.
In 2019 the couple started their own clothing line, Off Duty. The brand was inspired by the jobs as they wanted to create clothing items that you could just throw into a suitcase when traveling, such as hoodies, tracksuits and sweaters.
As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, Raessah and Immanuel were unable to continue with their jobs as flight attendants but this was a blessing in disguise as it allowed them to work on Off Duty. During lockdown, their business took flight and they now have their own store at the Watershed in the V&A Waterfront.
