Grandparents’ Day with Madeegha Anders
Thursday 21 July
This Sunday is Grandparents’ Day! We have a line-up of delicious recipes that are perfect to make for your grandparents to show them you love and appreciate them, not just this weekend but anytime.
We catch up with Madeegha Anders the songstress, performer, and local legend herself. Madeegha and Palesa chat about her singing career, Mandela Month, and of course her grandchildren.
The first recipe is Oumies Breakfast Smoothie made with Clover Super M. It is inspired by the many mornings Chef Jay spent sharing koesisters and a warm cup of chai with his Oumie. Ingredient alternatives: The dates can be swapped out for 2 tablespoons of honey and the almonds can be swapped for any other nuts of your choice.
The next dish, a Four Bean Curry, is an easy and hearty recipe that your family will love. Eating healthy is can be simple and delicious!
The first dessert goes by many names; Chocolate Snowballs, Lamingtons or iRed Cake. If you’re a lover of chocolate and coconuts, this is the sweet treat for you.
Two desserts are always better than one. Our Glamourous Strawberry and Coconut Cake is an adaption of the Chocolate Snowballs, with a little extra something something.
Stick around for Madeegha’s soulful performance of ‘Jesse’ by Roberta Flack.
