We celebrate Freedom Day on Afternoon Express.
On this special Freedom Day edition, we’re joined by the executive director of the Institute for Justice and Reconciliation Fanie Du Toit who will be talking about what Freedom Day - and freedom in general - means to and for South Africans. The day also commemorates the first free and fair elections in 1994 and we're chatting to Nelisa Ngqulana, Communications Manager for ACTIVATE! about what they do to encourage more of SA's youth to vote.
Sandy Bota talks about the #White=Black campaign and performs as well, and in the kitchen we're preparing a SA-inspired crushed samp salad.
Thanks to our glorious constitution, South Africans can express themselves in most of the ways their hearts desire.
Our presenters decided to express themselves by wearing the following today:
Danilo Acquisto
Light wash denim from WOOLWORTHS SA
Grey jersey from Old Khaki
Green and black bodysuit from A-LIST BOUTIQUE
Black pencil skirt with top flare from A-list
